SalesMaster® - Playing By Color Contd. ...

GamesMasters should therefore decide before the game and announce to the teams whether he will be timing the questions using the sand timer or another mechanism.

Each card contains a bonus question. At the GamesMaster’s discretion, bonus questions can be given out at any time. These can be directed at a particular team or to all teams on a “fastest response” basis. Bonus questions are valued at 50% of the value of a normal playing question.

When the question has been completed, play passes to the next team and proceeds in the same manner until each team has had one turn.

At the commencement of the second round, teams have the option to throw the dice again. Alternatively, they can elect instead to "buy" a “Big One” question. The price of the “Big One” question is indicated by the pointer.

Once a “Big One” question has been purchased, the price of a “Big One” question moves to the next highest price. Credit and overdrafts are not allowed.

A satisfactory answer to a “Big One” question is valued at double the amount shown on the pointer. Thus the maximum return for a team of purchasing a “Big One” question at £100 is £200. The reward for a correct answer to a question that was purchased for £300 is £600. GamesMasters should be looking for evidence that the teams have a professional response to the situation outlined on the “Big One” card. Because the answers are likely to be narrative, the GamesMaster must be careful to ensure that the answer given would be a workable solution to the problem described. The sample solutions given on the card are not comprehensive and Gamesmasters should be flexible in awarding marks for creative or innovative solutions proposed by a team. Bonuses are not available for the “Big One” questions although the GamesMaster may wish to encourage some debate amongst the other teams as to the validity of the response given. NOTE the “Big One” questions are designed to prompt debate and test the salesmanship of the teams. It is therefore important that the responses given reflect an accurate and professional response to the situation posed.

If a team lands on a "Free Lunch" square they are asked a "Big One" question. A satisfactory answer will get a maximum reward equal to twice the value shown on the spinner and they are not required to purchase the question in the first place. Play continues until each team has had an equal number of questions posed or until time runs out whichever comes first.

The winning team is the one with the most money.

SalesMaster® +Quickfire Round

In order to end the Sales Master session in an upbeat fashion, the GamesMaster can choose to finish with a Quickfire round. He does this by selecting the bonus questions printed at the bottom of the question cards. Teams are told that the question will go to "fastest finger on the buzzer". In the absence of a physical buzzer, this can be done by a player tapping his or her hand on the playing table. Some of the questions are extremely easy and as some are much more difficult and require knowledge of the company or its products.

The GamesMaster can decide whether a question is worth £5, £10 or £20 or more depending on its level of difficulty prior to reading it out. There are no bonuses for Quickfire questions and the answer given must be correct.

An extra Quickfire round can be inserted between normal rounds in order to boost teams’ cash reserves during the course of the game if desired.
