About the Game
The Pricing Dilemma is a role play exercise designed to highlight and reinforce negotiation and decision making skills. The story is based on the classic Game Theory conjecture The Prisoners' Dilemma but changed to reflect a commercial predicament.
To ensure that everyone has a chance to input to the decision making, the exercise is best run with two teams of between three and six players. If you have more than 12 delegates on your course, allow them to play in pairs of teams.
The exercise takes between 30 and 90 minutes depending on how much pressure the trainer wants to put on the decision making process; but expect the learning, especially about mutual trust and negotiation in good faith to go on for weeks or months.
What you Get
The Pricing Dilemma is downloaded from the Internet in Adobe Acrobat reader format. You receive a set of instructions for each team, a comprehensive instruction sheet for the instructor and a score sheet to help keep track of the results.
The Pricing Dilemma is an ideal overnight exercise or icebreaker. The session promotes the importance of trust and good faith in business, the value of following instructions carefully and often promotes debate and learning long after the formal end of the course.
