Nigel Bennett began his career in the Royal Air Force where he served for 10 years as an Engineer Officer. After leaving the RAF, he moved into a commercial career in the defence industry with The Plessey Company identifying and developing new market opportunities and selling contract R&D services to the UK MoD, European governments, the US DoD and large, national defence contractors.
He joined Philips to lead the commercialisation of their leading-edge innovation and manage the transition of research technologies into new and emerging applications in the consumer, automotive and telecommunication markets. This involved forging working relationships across international boundaries in Philips and undertaking detailed contractual joint venture and partnership negotiations at a senior level with companies such as Nokia, Thomson CSF, BT, Lucas, Jaguar, Daimler Benz and General Motors.
He moved to Cable & Wireless to establish and manage the regional sales and marketing activities within Mercury Communications to all market sectors throughout the Midlands, North, Scotland and Ireland. The role involved driving major cultural change across the business and negotiating long term telecommunications outsourcing contracts with major public listed companies. Later, he was appointed to set up and manage a joint venture company between Cable & Wireless and Barclays Bank to develop and provide on-line banking services for business customers.
Before setting up his own consultancy, Nigel worked for nearly 9 years as Sales Director for Ernst & Young where he was responsible for creating a sales led business development culture across the North of England practice. He also acted as Account Director for a number of major publicly listed clients, where he was the primary relationship holder for Ernst & Young. Amongst his clients he included:

- Scapa plc
- SIG plc
- The 600 Group plc
- The Mersey Docks & Harbour Company
